Annoying Problems will Never Happen

*Dear Plex-community, I installed the Plex-Server on my Sinology DS212j-NAS and a amazon Fire TV 2 in order to watch my media on TV. Thing is, it will *only* play .mp4-files. When trying to play another format (i.e. .mkv) I get the following error-message: “It is not possible to play this video as no connection to the required Server could be found.” I am far from being an IT-expert, but to me this error-message doesn’t make sense as the connection to the server is definetly established. So I guess there is another problem with respect to the file-format.

* Fire TV 2 has no sound when playing MKV files.

* Amazon Fire TV 2 MKV rendering Issues-So I recently got the Amazon Fire TV 2 and love it with the Plex Server. Little disappointed that its not a Home Theatre version.. But for the power efficiency it will have to do. I made a sample video and tested to see if I get the same error with the sample and I do. The screen capture was taken with the Sample.mkv. Its clearly a codec issue.

Still annoyed by Amazon Fire TV 2 can’t play MKV? Sure, but you will no longer be the confused man. Just sharing this world-1st “MKV to Amazon Fire TV 2 via Plex”solution guides to your friends.
