New iPhones will arrive in Japan on September 20 with a gold iPhone 5S option in tow, Japan’s Nikkei reported Wednesday.
SoftBank and KDDI will handle sales of the iPhone 5S and 5C, according to Japan’s largest business daily. NTT Docomo is not expected to sell the new iPhones, Nikkei added.
The U.S. announcement is expected on September 10, the report noted.
In addition to the conventional black and white models, a new “champagne gold” will be offered, the newspaper said. This reinforces widely-reported rumors about that color option for the iPhone 5S.
The 5S is expected to come with an upgraded processor and camera as well as fingerprint reader integrated into the home button, according to the report. Again, echoing recent reports.
In a note to investors Monday night, Citi Research’s Kevin Chang commented on build plans for the upcoming Apple phones.
Citi anticipates a “modest mix shift” to the iPhone 5S “and away from iPhone 5C,” in Apple’s fiscal quarter ending in December.
Apple is gearing up to start iPhone 5S production later this month as part of a plan to make 15 million of the devices, Jefferies analyst Peter Misek said in a note Monday morning.
The latest speculation about the iPhone 5S — which remains the fodder of rumor and expectation, as Apple has kept mum on such a product thus far — draws from Misek’s conclusions from inventory channel checks.
Based on the checks, he said he believes small-batch production of a low-cost iPhone began last month, and manufacture of the iPhone 5S will begin later in July. He estimated availability would be in late September or early October, based on the lead time he thinks the device requires.
He estimates the mix is 15 million each of the low-cost iPhone and iPhone 5S, with the iPhone 4S being retired.
The iPhone 5S has a history at the rumor mill. Pictures in December showed an exterior identical to the iPhone 5, just a couple of months off the launch of the iPhone 5. Other pictures surfaced last month. More recently, a Korean news outlet expected a version of the iPhone 5S with LTE-Advanced technology.
Misek has a track record of some misses, too, including about imminent launches of an Apple TV set last year, which did not pan out.
According to media report, iPhone5S specifications leaked, allegedly, iPhone 5S has a 4-inch IGZO display with resolution of 1136X640, 1.2G A7 four-core processor with PowerVR SGX 554MP4 GPU, 2G RAM, will be available in 16G/32G/64 G/ 128G version, 1200W pixel rear camera, support the global 4G network (including mobile TDD), support for fingerprint recognition to unlock and NFC payments. In addition, Home key has an LED indicator, when unlocking or a successful payment, LED lights will flash.
Had been rumored iPhone5S will use the full HD resolution, but the fact, iPhone 5S only use IGZO screen instead of IPS screen.
If you are an Apple fan, you might often concerned about the trend from Apple. There is no doubt, almost every Apple device will bring a series of the boom. Nowadays, many people are turning to the next generation of Apple mobile devices, such as iPad 5, iPhone 6 or iPhone 5S. According to a report from Taipei-based Digitimes., production of the fifth-generation iPad is slated to begin in July. The following are details:
Trial production of Apple’s 5th-generation 9.7-inch iPad will begin soon and volume production will begin in July, with monthly shipments ramping up to 2-3 million units in September, according to sources with Taiwan’s supply chain.
The display of the new iPad, which will hit market shelves as early as September, will still be a 2,048 x 1,536 Retina display, the same as the one used in the 4th-generation model, except that the new display is built on a glass substrate of 0.2mm, thinner than the 0.25mm one for the 4th-generation device, the sources said, adding the new table will has a narrow bezel.
The touch panel solution for 5th-generation iPad is GF2 (1 layer of glass and two layers of ITO film) instead of G/G bonding used in 4th-generation iPad, the sources added.
The new iPad will use one LED light bar for backlighting, compared to two LED light bars used in 4th-generation iPad, the sources noted.
The 5th-generation iPad is estimated to be 25-33% lighter than the 4th-generation one, the sources indicated.
LG Display, Samsung Display and Sharp are expected to be the suppliers of display panels for the 5th-generation iPad, while Taiwan Surface Mounting Technology will undertake SMT for the LED light bars, Radiant Opto-Electronics and Coretronic will be responsible for making the backlight units and TPK Holding for touch panel bonding, the sources said.
