How to make file size suitable when converting MKV to mp4 for Galaxy Tab 3

5 Thoughts

MKV video is not supported by most portable devices including Galaxy Tab 3, so the transcode to mp4 is necessary and should be able to play on Galaxy Tab 3. Many users complained that, after a video conversion from mkv to mp4 and when trying to transfer it to Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, it keeps coming up with some kind of error, saying the file is not playable. What’s the problem?

While this error I encountered before, a friend indicated it was about file size. Most android tablets including Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 only recognize SD cards formatted in FAT 32, this limits a single file size less than 4GB, if your movie or video is larger than 4GB, same error would appear. There are two ways to to avoid this situation. The first method, compress the MKV file to the greatest extent, but doing so may affect video quality, the greater the compression ratio, the poorer the video quality. The second method, split large video files into smaller pieces.

How to remove Black Bars when ripping or converting DVD movies

Question:

Hello.
The last two attempts at converting two different DVD Discs using a free program output black bars at the top and bottom of movies. I tried to enlarge and disappear blackbars, but video would be stretched to wrong aspect ratio.
Please advise me what to extract videos without black bars but in correct aspect ratio as soon as possible.
Thank you

Generally, commercial DVDs are made in a way that is suitable for playing back on a 4:3 TV. So you get black bars added at top and bottom of the picture. When playing DVD on a 16:9 wide screen TV, we tend to display movies at full screen in order to make full use of the wide screen display. In that case the image is slightly stretched, but stills look fine. This is because the original aspect ratio of DVD is 2.35:1 or 1.85:1 instead of 1.78:1 (16:9).
